Eligibility
You must be under 75 years of age and have a valid contract with CERN to be eligible for our Healthcare Plan for CERN MPAs. Spouse and children who are living in France or Switzerland with you can be added as dependents. If you are an MPA located in Switzerland, you are eligible for cover if:
- You are resident of Switzerland and hold a valid P legitimation card, or
- You are not a resident of Switzerland and therefore are not obliged to obtain LAMal/KVG
If you are a resident of Switzerland without a valid Swiss "P" legitimation card, your cover will be limited to maximum consecutive period of 90 days.
The cover we provide is not a substitute for local compulsory health insurance in your home country or host country, France or Switzerland. Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that your health insurance cover is legally appropriate. If you are not sure, please get independent legal advice, as we may no longer be able to cover you
