Where is the venue for the conference?

The venue is the beautiful Mount Juliet Estate, in Kilkenny (1hr 40 mins from Dublin airport).

What is the dress code for the event?

Dress code is smart casual. It’s not compulsory but may want to get a little more dressed up for the dinner on Tuesday evening at the Michelin star, Lady Helen Restaurant.

Will accommodation be booked at Mount Juliet for me - I'm only attending the Strategy Conference (7&8 Feb)?

If you are travelling to the attend the Strategy Conference from outside Ireland accommodation will be provided at Mount Juliet on 6th February.

We expect that Strategy Conference attendees based in Ireland will carpool or make their own way to Mount Juliet on the morning of the 7th February.

Everyone attending the Strategy Conference will be provided with accommodation for 1 night (7th February) at Mount Juliet.

If you do not require any of these nights of accommodation, please let us know as soon as possible.

Will accommodation be booked at Mount Juliet for me - I'm attending Strategy Leadership Conference (7th & 8th February) and Sales Leadership Conference (8th & 9th February)?

If you are attending both conferences accommodation will be provided on the 7th, 8th and 9th Feb.

If you are travelling to the events from outside Ireland accommodation will also be provided at Mount Juliet on 6th February.

If you do not require any of these nights of accommodation, please let us know as soon as possible.

I need an additional night / nights of accommodation before or after the event - who will organise this?

Any additional nights of accommodation needed will need to be arranged separately at an alternative property, as rooms at Mount Juliet are limited.

We recommend the Hilton Kilmainham in Dublin City Centre. Please contact Sachin.Fernando@Hilton.com to make a booking. Please note we are not covering the cost of any additional nights of accommodation.

We will organise group transfers from Mount Juliet to the Hilton Kilmainham on 8th February as needed but please note we will not be covering the cost of any additional nights of accommodation.

Will transport be arranged to and from Mount Juliet?

Group transport will be arranged for people travelling from outside Ireland for the conference. Please provide details of any transfers you require in the event registration form here.

We expect that attendees based in Ireland will carpool or make their own way to Mount Juliet on the morning of the 7th February and home again when the event ends.

I'd like to book onto a wellness activity during my time at Mount Juliet, who should I contact?

There many Wellness activities and facilities available at Mount Juliet. All hotel residents have complementary access to the Health Club.

We will also be organising group activities each morning before the conference starts – Aqua aerobics, a guided walk and a yoga class will be available (please note that numbers for some activities are limited). You can register for these free wellness activities when you check-in at Mount Juliet Estate.

Should you wish to avail of any of the other wellness facilities or activities available at Mount Juliet booking in advance may be required. Please contact the hotel for further information and booking. Any costs related to independently booked activities will be payable by you.

What time will breakfast be served at the hotel?

We've arranged for breakfast to be served from 6.30am for anyone who wants to start the day early.

Ida Luka-Lognoné, Chief Executive Officer of Health and member of the Allianz Partners Board of Management. Having joined Swiss group Elvia Travel Insurance in 1992, Ida developed Central and Eastern Europe markets. Since 2000 she became Director of the European Region in Mondial Assistance before joining its Executive Committee in 2002. In 2007 Ida assumed the role of CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Allianz Global Assistance and became a board member in charge of Asia Pacific development, focused on China, India and Australia. As from 2014 she joined Allianz Partners Board, first in charge of Strategy, Innovation and Market Management and since 2015 as CEO of Allianz Care specialized brand of Allianz Partners. She is member of the Allianz Group Inclusion and Diversity Council and sponsors Force Femmes, a French charity which helps unemployed women return to professional activities. In recognition of her professional achievements and contribution to the French economy, Ida Luka-Lognoné was awarded the French Legion d'Honneur.

David Myers has almost 20 years’ experience
in the corporate insurance industry, having held numerous management positions across the Allianz Group’s  global offices. A chartered insurer, David also holds an MBA from the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) in Berlin.  In his new role David will focus on strengthening broker distribution management including relationships with key global partners.

Paula Covey is responsible for marketing Allianz Partners’ Health line of business under the Allianz Care, NextCare and Medi24 brands, as well as for helping to achieve Allianz Partners group’s ambitious plans to grow health activities and services across all of its lines of business, as Allianz Partners’ Chief Marketing Officer for Health.

With over 12 years at Allianz, Eamonn joined Allianz Care in 2009 having previously worked for a start up mobile phone company which was later acquired by Telefonica, leading various functions across Operations, Finance and Commercial including launching new business lines. Since joining Allianz Care, Eamonn played a critical role in Globalising the Operations model to support the significant growth of the Health LOB. Eamonn was also responsible for creating the AP Global Medical Provider Management (MPM) team and the Digital Customer Journey, with a focus on delivering cost efficient, customer-focused service delivery across the various IH Operations teams globally.

With over 26 years of experience in the insurance industry, Christian started his journey with Nextcare back in 2002 where he worked on building the company’s portfolio. In 2004, he was appointed General Manager, heading the UAE operations and within the same year his role was extended to include the entire region. In 2007, he was appointed CEO for the Nextcare group, and subsequently worked on the integration of the company within the Allianz group, whereby he assumed additional responsibilities for developing the Allianz Partners lines of business in the MEA region. In 2019, Christian became the Chairman of the Executive Committee, CEO of Allianz Partners MEA & Nextcare, Global Head of TPA & MPM where he took over the responsibility for expanding the Medical Provider Management (MPM) and Third Party Administration services globally. Since 2021 Christian has taken over the global digital health service and leading the Middle East and North Africa region.

Diane Babson is currently CFO of Health, Allianz Partners entity within Allianz. 

Diane has been in this role for over 3 years, prior to this she was the CFO of America’s Region in Allianz Partners entity.  This included business which primarily provided Travel insurance (with related medical coverage) and were centralized in US, Canada, and Brazil locations.  

Diane has over 30 years of financial and operations experience across multiple industries.  Prior to joining Allianz in 2015, she held several increasing responsible financial and operations leadership positions with US owned companies Genworth Financial (Life/Investments based insurance products) and GE (Aircraft Engines and Nuclear Energy).   She has had key roles in business activities that include the IPO of Genworth Financial, acquisitions of insurance distribution companies and establishing new models of reinsurance agreements. 

Diane’s formal education was in the US, she holds a BBA from University of Massachusetts and a MBA from University of North Carolina.

Eric is a member of the Global Executive Committee at Allianz Partners. Eric has been with Allianz Partners since 2006 in various positions, including Group Head of Actuarial and Underwriting for Allianz Global Assistance (2006-2012), CFO and CUO Allianz Assistance Australia (2012-2014), and joined Allianz Partners Health & Life in 2014 first as a Senior Actuary in 2014.

Eric was appointed as Chief Underwriting Officer of AWP Health and Life in December 2015, and oversees technical activities for all health and life activities for Allianz Partners group.

Michael is the HR Director within the Allianz
Partners Health line of business.  Michael is a professionally qualified HR leader (Chartered MCIPD) and a Chartered Insurer.  Having graduated with a Masters in Law, Michael joined Allianz Cornhill Insurance in the UK as an Account Manager before assuming the role of Operations Manager in London for Allianz Global Corporate and Speciality. 

Michael joined Allianz Partners’ HR team in Dublin in 2012 and, after a short stint as Head of HR with Cornmarket Group Financial Services in Dublin in 2018, re-joined Allianz Partners becoming HR Director in 2019.  Although lacking in any innate talent, he is a keen football and guitar player.

With almost 6 years at Allianz, Michelle joined what was previously known as Allianz Worldwide Care in 2016, as Head of Digital Marketing, after having previously worked for technology and finance organisations such as Symantec, Bradford & Bingley and IBM.  She played a vital role in building the direct & digital model from the ground up for International health. She was appointed Head of Go to Market at Allianz Partners in 2020, where she is now leading the Go to Market strategy for the Health LOB, with a particular focus on driving engaging communications and introducing a new account based marketing approach to drive enterprise sales using digital technology and customer insights. She has a broad and deep understanding of technology and the functional processes of the marketing industry to drive change within the financial services sector.

With over 20 years of experience in management consulting and senior management roles across Europe, Middle East & Africa, as well as Central Asia, Andrej joined Allianz Partners in 2020 after having previously worked at Daman as their Digital & Marketing Director.

Andrej brings with him a strong understanding of the strategies across different regions, and had practical experience of driving major initiatives for leading telecom players. Over the years, he developed a solid knowledge of the Internet & Telecom industry dynamics across diverse markets and operator maturity levels. During  his career, he advised telecom players on a range of strategic solutions, led operator repositioning and turn-around in transition phase from start-up to mature organization. Andrej is at the forefront of the Nextcare and Allianz Partners digital agenda in the Middle East and Africa.

Global Student Mobility

Jodi Thomas, Head of Strategy & Implementation, Global Student Mobility and member of the Leadership Forum.  Having joined Auto & General in 2012, Jodi launched health insurance, personal accident and travel insurance in market. Following this she became Head of Travel Insurance, and later added Roadside Assistance and Health Insurance to her responsibilities, achieving double digit growth year on year across all portfolios. In 2018 Jodi joined Allianz Partners as General Manager Strategy International Health in Australia, and saw her role expanded to include Travel and Assistance LoBs to execute the strategy.

In 2020 during the pandemic Jodi relocated to Global Office to grow the student segment globally, and his since led the Asia region for the Aqua migration and US Global Solutions working closing with Aetna. Jodi is passionate about sport, and has recently been appointed Coach of the first French National Netball team to compete in the World Netball European Championships in May this year.

James Carroll, Head of both Organisational Management International Health and Medical Assistance Global Competence Centre, also a member of Global Executive Committee for Allianz Partners Health. James commenced his career in Canada Life Assurance Company in 1988. After several administration roles, he moved to the actuarial department as an IT Developer. He was promoted to Pensions Manager and during this time he acted as business advisor to the purchase and implementation of a new IT Pensions Platform. In 2002, James moved to Allianz Care in the role of Operations Manager and became CIO for Allianz Care between 2004 and 2014. In 2015 James assumed his current role of Head of Organisational Management for Health, focusing on IT solution Delivery. He also has global responsibility for the Medical Assistance Operations in Allianz Partners.

Sisouda is appointed as the Regional COO for Allianz Partners Health in APAC, based in Singapore. She joined Allianz Partners Global Office in 2018 in Operations as Group Business Continuity and Crisis Management officer.

She played a key role during COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating crisis management, safeguarding business operations with work from home and return to office implementation while ensuring Allianz Partners employees’ protection and safety. In 2021, she was appointed Head of Protection and Resilience before moving with her family to Singapore to take the role of Regional Head of Protection and Resilience for Allianz SE Asia Pacific.

Graduated from a French business school, Sisouda started her career in consulting in Arthur Andersen before integrating Societe Generale bank where she held various roles in IT, Operations and Risk Management.

Cyril Samson joined Allianz Global Benefits in January 2004 as Managing Director and was appointed as Head of Sales in July 2017.

Based in Stuttgart, Cyril is responsible for the management of the company‘s sales & account management teams. He further services multinational clients in the risk as well as the pension field.

Prior to this Cyril was accountable for servicing major key accounts from different countries, with main focus on France and Africa. Since 2013, he had been additionally responsible for Life & Asset global coordination within Allianz, coordinating and structuring made-to-measure pension solutions for multinational corporate clients.

Before joining Allianz, Cyril was Head of the International Employee Benefits Unit of the Gerling Group based in Cologne, Germany.

Cyril is a French citizen and graduated in Private and Public International Law from both Paris and Frankfurt Universities of Law.

Wolfgang Bahls was appointed Managing Director of MAWISTA in 2018. Wolfgang first joined Allianz Partners in 2011, where he held several leadership positions in Direct & Digital. Before his current role, he was Regional Manager Direct for Central and Eastern EU.

He holds a PhD degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Marketing and Strategy from the University of Warwick.

He is an expert on purpose, and has extensive experience enabling leaders to perform at their very best during turbulent times. His positive mindset, extensive listening skills, and confident people skills are valued hugely by the people and friends that he works closely with.

Michael Scheu, Head of Product and Solutions of AZ Global Benefits and member of the AGB management team. Having joined Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG in Germany in 2000, Michael worked in the financial department of Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG in the team responsible for the investment strategies for the asset portfolio.

After moving to the predecessor company of AZ Global Benefits in 2003, Michael worked in various roles with the organization driving and supporting its development of the organization and became member of the management team in 2014. Before his current role, Michael was Head of Operations focused on Data, Finance, Governance and Digital Solutions. Since 01.2022 as Head of Product & Solutions, he is responsible for the technical (UW/pricing) interface to Network Insurers and drives the financial and claim data collection from the Network for accounting and related reporting to the multinational corporates

Alex is a German native with fluent English and a member of the Executive Committee at Allianz Partners. 

He has been with Allianz Partners since 2005 managing large corporate clients like Daimler, Commerzbank and Airbus. He has over 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry and has previously held Senior Administration Management positions. From 2013 to 2016, Alex was Senior Manager of Client Relations, being ultimately responsible for the Relationship Management function. 

Alex is now our Global Head of Client & Broker Relationship Management · Health, bringing all his previous years’ experience to this role.

Technical transformation

Harjit is Head of Technical Transformation, a new team established 6 months ago to drive change as part of the Aqua deal.  In his role at Aetna, he was responsible for pricing strategy, tools supporting the quoting environment and claims analytics to identity cost containment opportunities.  Harjit was previously a Director at PwC leading and signing off on the provision of actuarial services to the insurance market.

Mida is the Chief HR Officer, Allianz Partners – MEA and is also a member of Nextcare’s Executive committee.  She joined Nextcare in 2009 and has been a strategic partner in accelerating Nextcare’s regional and global expansions and ambitions ever since. 

With strong core competencies in Talent Management and accreditation in Change Management, Mida has positioned herself as an established member within the global HR community, being an influential speaker on many occasions. Passionate about the company’s People Strategy and Engagement, Mida has set a true model for women empowerment, fostering change through several initiatives planned throughout the year

Wellness activities

We want to make sure you have some ‘you time’ during the conference and there are many options available at Mount Juliet. All hotel residents have complementary access to the Health Club which includes a heated 15 metre swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms and gym.

We will also be organising group activities each morning before the Conference starts – Aqua aerobics, a guided walk and a yoga class will be available from 8.30am-9.30am on Tuesday 7th and from 8am-9am on Wednesday 8th February. You can register for these free wellness activities when you check-in at Mount Juliet Estate (please note that numbers for some activities are limited and spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis).
